This includes popular social software, sometimes referred to as ‘Web 2.0’ tools, as well as tools for podcasting and virtual conferencing. The suggestions for tools or software given here are not exhaustive.

About these guides
The purpose of these guides is to inform and inspire you to consider how the different tools could be useful for you, your students and their learning and assessment needs. The focus is on the potential benefits and strengths of each of the tools, and planning and managing activities using the tools. Interactive activities are included in each guide to help you to:
- determine whether a tool is right for you and your students
- plan and check your activities for successful outcomes.
