Anne has been empowering her learners through the use of social software for more than seven years, including the use of social bookmarking services.

Anne is a lecturer in the Faculty of Education at the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS). Her students include undergraduates and Adult Education practitioners, including TAFE teachers. She also runs another industry program for young women entrepreneurs.

Anne talks about the process for her and students to work out what new tools can provide and then how they can enrich the learning experience. Allowing ‘set-up’ time initially to help students to familiarise with the tools is an important part of this process. Click the play button below.

Blending personal, professional and learning with social software

The blurring of identities and networks between home, study and work is something that Anne’s students are beginning to acknowledge. Centralising all information and communication needs within one site is often preferred. This means that Anne needs to be clear about the requirements for using tools to document evidence of learning and assessment.
