Bookmark list |
This activity involves students creating a specialised bookmark list that is stored and accessed via a social bookmarking service. In its simplest form, students are given a specific topic to research using only internet-based sources. Each student uses their bookmarking service account to store, catalogue and organise the websites they have discovered.
Students can also use a social bookmarking service to create many different types of specialised bookmark lists:
Bookmark lists are just as powerful for teachers as they are for students. Teachers can create bookmark lists for personal information gathering or sharing with students and other teachers.
No matter what the purpose of the bookmark list, students need to assign tags to their bookmarks. This will allow for improved searching and sorting as well as laying the foundations for more collaborative activities.
